Snail Eaters

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My vote would be for the smaller Botia loaches - I’m not super well versed in the species but I think yoyo is an option.
Assassin snails could also work.

Loaches will certainly control pest snails, and assassin snails will too Manual extraction, together with reducing feeding will help lots as well.

My personal experience with yoyo loaches, clown loaches, and Modesta loaches is that they can coexist with-, and do not directly harass too much, but generally outcompete Cories in tanks.

I find that my Loach (Yoyo Loach) doesn't really eat much of them probably due to the fact that there's probably enough food for it during regular feedings. I've had more success using Assassin Snails, but after that, they replace the pest snails by becoming the pest snails, but they are more desired and can easily be sold.

Almost any loach will eat snails. But they do best in large groups of their own type. And you won't fit many in a planted 29.

I would say yoyos are too large. Chian loaches look great, are not large, and exterminate snails.
