I had thought about a smaller loach but decided against it because alot of them will eat bits of the plants and I dont want that to happen. And the plants are established and doing well they have been in there about a year or so. I just think I will go with the asssassins. One question about the assassins though do they reproduce asexually or sexually?

They are sex specific so require a partner to mate. they lay their eggs mostly commonly on stalks to thick plants (in my tanks they lay them on anubias stems). The eggs take about a month to hatch. The eggs are laid individually.

My clowns demolished the malaysian trumpet snail population in my tank. I don't think they are a good choice for you though.

I have placed a single pond snail in my XP3 canister.....A month later....I open for clean up.....There are globs of eggs cases and small snails crawling all over my Bio-Max......

It's up to you. I'd get 10 if money is not an issue.

This is a perfect idea actually for assassins. Unlimited supply of prey.

Well it looks like I will be getting ten then and putting a pond snail in my filter for some food. Hopefully I will get them soon.
