Snail id and help

Hi ive found this snail in a box im using to check equippment.
First i would really apprciate help in IDing him.
Second how do they reproduce? Do theyr eggs surviving being dry for months?
Everyhting that entered this box was dried for months so i dont get how did he appeared all of a sudden..

Malaysian trumpet snail, family Thiaridae.
They are ovoviviparous, holding developing eggs inside body, thus appearing to be viviparous (don’t lay eggs).
Can’t say anything as to how ir arrived. They are resistant to partial desication, but will not last very long if alivevif completely dry. Can hold some water inside and survive a while (hours to days) but not much longer.

I absolutely hate those things…especially the little MTS. I’ve bleached the daylights out of a tank and they pop back up. Super strength hydrogen peroxide, and they reappear. Filled a tank with hot water, and they still come back. Added clown loaches, crayfish, puffers, assassin snails…no luck. They’ll be gone for months then boom, they’re back.

I have no idea how or why or where they come from but they’re a nightmare. Let me know if your ever figure it out as I need help too.

Having too many MTS is a symptom of having to much waste in the tank. It's either too much uneaten food or too much fish poop that didn't made it into the filter. It's actually good that the MTS eat the waste because snail feces are easier to break down for bacteria including beneficial bacteria running the cycle.

Just getting rid of the MTS only treats the symptoms and not the root of the actual problem.
