They are not MTS. But loaches will work.

It’s a 36” by 18” with a hoplo cat SAE’s and corys in it.

I like the SAE.

Can you get about ten small to medium loaches? You need a few as they are social fish and only work well in groups. Do not get clown loaches, they will get big (slowly) and need a much bigger tank. Chain loaches or skunk loaches are small, and get through snails.

Just curious, how would the loaches eat them when they are sticking on the glass the whole time and are like protected by a shell haha

Also take a look at the snail antennae if you can as that is a really good difference. Don't go by the color of the shell, more the direction it grows the spiral.

They aren't harmful to your tank but can get out of control IF there is excess food in the tank. I don't know how old your son is but overfeeding is common for most people.

Your snails are what often is referred to as pond snails, although common names suck because they are used for many species indiscriminately. The family is Lymnaeidae, the likely genus is Lymnaea, or Radix, but there are several similar-looking species around. In contrast, Bladder snails (family Physidae) have shells coiled in the opposite direction (left).
Both are harmless but can get out of control if not addressed.
