i have had a planted tank for a while now, i have had snail problems before and fixed them with clown loaches and even "had-a-snail". but now my tank has become infested with snail and i see no sign of them leaving even though i have two clown loaches in my tank. what can i do??

thanks.

get a pufferfish and u wont have to feed him. just let him eat when he wants.
i think that sounds reasonable but dont count on me.

how did you get a snail infestation anyways. i think i would like an infestation. free snails and i could get a pufferfish and not worry about trips to the food store.

i dont know really. i have some snail, and then i got a clown loach and they went away for a while. and then all of sudden bam, i have like 1000 snails in my little tank.

never get a fish to solve a problem.. same way you wont get a pleco to get rid of algae..
Just do gravel vacs and over time you will suck up most of them (once in the bucket find a way to kill them and dont just flush them down the toilet) those that you can pick out with your fingers from the glass just take them out and squish them.

Put a potato wedge in over night, and pull it in the morning, but use a net underneath to catch the snails. Do this for 4-5 nights in row, and you will have no more snails.

The potato works every time...although if you WANT an expert snail eater get a couple of Red Jewels....
