Where the sun never shines
sorry for the bad picture, but i have thousands of these snails in my planted tank. i tried using puffers, loaches, and even Had-A-Snail, which i know is not good for my plants. Are these snails harmful? and how do i get rid of them. my tank is 160 gallon. picture is in next thread.

why didnt the puffers or loaches work?

have you dramatically decreased feedings?

I'll get someone to merge these threads. The snail you have is just an MTS, which is good for planted tanks. These snails have shells that are too tough for puffers to eat, and few loaches will touch them. Do not try to rid yourself of them, it isn't possible, but they will help your tank out.

The only was to reduce mts is to reduce thier food supply
If youre really patient you could pick them all out by hand:grinno:
Or you could break down the tank discard everything in it wash it with bleach then start over

You can try to get rid of them in a number of ways, but there is no need. If they are all over your glass during the day, then you don't have intense enough lighting. My 135 has at least 40,000 of these snails, but when the lights come on they all disappear. During the day I see 5-7 of them, and that is it.
