Snail machine floating in tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Can someone tell me what this contraption does? This is the first time i've ever heard/seen it before.

This contraption, when stocked with adult snails, will dispense baby snails into the tank as they hatch and crawl out. This is great news for small puffer fish, many plecos and other small aufwuchs eaters, as well as young cichlids and sunfish.

Patent this idea and sell it, I shall use it too.

Can I borrow some of your fish to get rid of my snails?

I've been trying to get rid of them for almost a year now and finally removed all my gravel. Now they're in my algae scrubber and they keep showing up in my tank. I've tried two clown loaches but they caught ich. Got a blue gourami that does nothing so I'm running out of ideas short of taking everything apart and sanitizing everything.

Get a puffer!

These guys are great snail eaters I hear... The blue gourami not so much, mine could care less about snails too, he's about 4.5" now.

If the snails aren't to big and aren't Maylaysian snails, I suggest making some snail flakes. EVERY fish like snail flakes!!! (Actually, snails like them to...) Just smush little snails against the side of the tank.

How much food is provided by this type of setup? Any idea how much nourishment it actually provides?
