I've gotten those from two different stores and put them in two different tanks. First time I didn't even know. It came over on some plants. I saw it in my 55 goldfish tank after I put the plants in. I figured I'd let it live there. I'd see it every once in a while for about a month or so. Then one day I haven't seen it every again. Then I got plants for my 20g tropical tank from another store and I noticed the snail before putting plants in. Again I decided to let this little one in my 20g tropical tank and same thing. Noticed it for about a week and then haven't seen it since, about a month now. So I don't know if my fish eat them or if they die or what. I'd personally just put it in. If it was one of the known reproduction like crazy ones then maybe not put it in.

My plants were alive and thriving until I became infested with these hitchhiker snails.
After the snails were removed, the plants went back to growing. That's the only thing different, was the presence or absence of snails.

How do you guys & gals get so lucky with snail infestation. I have so many species of fish that seem to include them on the highest end of "delicasy" insofar as diet is concerned.
I can count the times on one hand with fingers to spare (This includes my giant Ramshorn(s)) where I have seen a single survivor snail after a couple days in ANY of my tanks.
A list of some of my fish that I have witnessed devouring snails like fiends include:
Cichlids (EBJD, Oscar, Tilapia Jaguar, Dovi & Cuban)
Loaches (Clown, Weather Loach, Dojo Loach, Tiger Loach)
Freswater Flounder
GSP
Emerald Puffer
Peacock Eel
Bowfin
Bichirs . . .

Weather and dojo loaches are the same. I've never seen them eat snails in my experience though and I actually combined them with various snails of different ages including my Pomacea canaliculata.
msjinkzd and a few bichir enthusiasts never had issues combining their bichirs with any snails either, especially apples.

I've watched a weather loach eat a small apple snail. It wasn't a pretty sight. Only saw it once though.
