Snail personality differences?

sooooo iv been feeding the snails a big slice of cucumber every other day and they have been eating it like crazy however they are still tearing up my plants they look HORRIBLE 2 huge leaves they have completely eaten down to the thick middle part of the leaf and several others dont look much better. i thought snails could be kept in planted tanks? how can i keep them from eating my plants?! i like the snails but im ready to find them new homes if they wont leave my plants alone, should i feed cucumber every day?
 
dont have picture they are 2 black and one gold "mystery" or "apple" snails, the ones with the shell curling to the side and have a trap door, the ones that petsmart sells
 
Pomacea diffusa do not typically eat healthy plants. They only eat softened/dying plants as they can not efficiently rasp healthy plants. They have to either be starving or not the species you were told that you were sold. What kind of plants? They only kind mine eat is duckweed and sometimes really softleaved plants like wisteria.
 
yeah the plants are soft leaved, not sure on the type (got from petstore so not sure on names) but they are some soft leaved sword plants and then a low growing broad leaved plant with red and green leaves, and i had just gotten the plants so they wernt that well off but i had taken off the dying leaves before they even went into the tank, and the leaves they have eaten the most were the healthiest looking ones before they got to them, yeah i liked having these snails but i really want to have this tank as a planted one so im giving the snails to a friend
