I'm looking for some help with a mystery. Snails of multiple species are unable to survive in my tank. These include mystery snails, rams horn, and trumpet. I have placed snails in jars with aquarium water and they happily scoot around laying eggs in the jar, but once they are introduced to the main aquarium they die. They are dead within 3 days and never move far from where they are introduced. I have tested for copper and it's negative and the water itself doesn't seem to be the problem. My substrate is a mix of sand and aragonite. The system is approximately 1,000 gallons freshwater. Other inhabitants are 2 bichirs, 2 peacock bass, 1 silver arowana, and TSN catfish. pH is

Try acclimating them the way you would a fish. I’ve lost snails in my saltwater tank by not acclimating them, but when I treat them like a new fish or coral, the success rate is much higher. They are sensitive to even the smallest traces of toxins.

Have you used any other medications in that tank A ApexPredators ?

What do the snails look like when they have died? Partially out of shell, closed shell, etc.? Do you ever see them move about the tank prior to their death?

Any chance the fish are picking at them?

Punjabiking1500 Punjabiking1500 had a snail that was all out of it's shell. Also, water changes probably need to go up a bit. But that has nothing to do with the snails dying off.

My thoughts too.
Are the shells empty or is it just dead in the shell. Some of my polys will eat snails 1 if it's big enough and 2 if they have access to it. Mystery and large ramshorn are almost always eaten. I don't usually see it happen, seems after dark is when they decide to hunt snails. I've tried a few times to introduce snails to the poly pond. Snails are fine for weeks or longer in a different tank and next day empty shells in the pond. I've watched them during lights on and a couple show interest in the snail but seldom attack.
