Saw a video from a breeder in asian feeding their rays pond snails. Especially the little ones. I watched him just crush a few pond snails he found in his planted tank and just chucked them into his ray tank. i watched his BD and Pearl youngins devour them. Anyone else do this? any thoughts? my only concern is their shells being sharp and harming their organs. but in the wild this is also what they eat...

Snails make up a pretty large percentage of a rays diet in the wild. I'd be more concerned with parasites than the shells causing problems

2 risky imo... There are much safer, and better things to feed your rays. If your wanting to watch them eat live prey, try crayfish just clip their pitchers off before hand. As with anything live though, always the risk of parasites.

But are they safe if you breed them yourself just for the reason to feed to the rays
