these are good looking snails, i might have to get a few hahaNitrite snails are my top favorite for algae control and for being (seamingly) the hardest to be eaten. I have them in most of my tanks, including the tank with my gsp.
Another favorite of mine is mystery snails.
They are not only keeping things clean, but look how beautiful they areView attachment 1346492View attachment 1346493

id like to get a species that breed as well as 1 or two that just look goodIf you do you won’t regret it.
I’ve never had them breed for me sadly, but that’s ok. These two are my favorites. They are like graceful water elephants. Haha. I get excited every time they come to the front of the tank where I can watch them.

ill have to keep that in mind, tommorow i head two hours to a dealer who has electric blue jack dempseys, maybe he will have a variety of snailsMystery snails do breed in fresh water, so maybe you’ll get luckier then me. Maybe I don’t keep my waterline low enough? Not sure. But I’ve never seen an egg clutch from them in the past. These guys I’ve only had for a couple months but they have already grown a lot!
If you want major breeding get ramshorns. Haha. I started with 4 and now have so many I couldn’t even attempt to count them all.
Mystery snails all the way!!! Mine took about two months to breed for me, they laid clutches every second day for a about a week...now I find random clutches.ill have to keep that in mind, tommorow i head two hours to a dealer who has electric blue jack dempseys, maybe he will have a variety of snails
ill try to get a couple in that caseMystery snails all the way!!! Mine took about two months to breed for me, they laid clutches every second day for a about a week...now I find random clutches.
My water line isn’t too low, they will even lay them on the glass lid upside down...mine lay small clutches compared to what I’ve seen posted on google. Usually the size of my fingernail.
You also need at least one male and one female to get viable eggs from them!
