It just rained and there are a ton of snails outside on the ground. Are these ok to feed to CA Cichlids. I have an Oscar and P.Loisellei.

I just thought i would ask. I dont know of any pestisides being used on the plants. Just regular snails you find in your garden.

I would think if you pulled them from their shells they would be fine. I have not done it myself but I can't think of why they would be much different than them eating mystery snails.

I don't know. I feed my oscars worms when they float up on my drive way when it rains. I've never tried it but I guess it would work if you took them out of the shell and washed them out.

As long as they have not be expose to pesticides or any other kind of toxins should be fine. I used to feed pond snails to mines all the time.

No way of knowing if they've been exposed.

i wouldnt chance a fish over a snail any day hah
too many pesticides in the world anyways the snails probably toxic

Just feed them regular fish pellets. Why would you risk it?

Well you're right that in this case i shouldnt risk it. Since i really dont know if they have been exposed.

But in the other case. You shouldnt just feed your cichlids pellets and only pellets. They need a variety of food. Especially Oscars since they are so prone to HITH. A varied diet has proven effective in warding off HITH among other things.

I'll just continue to buy his bugs and worms. :irked: I hate paying for stuff that crawls around outside. Stupid pesticides.
