I have a GSP in brackish and im having trouble finding snails and live food for hinm that can survive brackish. Im thinking about starting a breeding tank and i was just curious if it would work or if they all would just eat eachothers offspring. I want to do a 20 gallon snail, ghost shimp (or other shrimp), and guppy breeder. Would this work? Will they breed enough to provide a constant food supply for my gsp?

If it will not work then i might just breed shrimp but will they multiply fast enough to feed one a day?

I know many of you guys can give me some input so dont be shy

anyone?

breeding is a project that takes a couple weeks maybe before u can have an adequate food supply. if u want fry, i recommend convicts cuz they breed faster than guppies and they dont eat their young. ghost or cherry shrimp will work also, but at slower rates. convict fry also grow really fast so when u scoop out the fry after about a week or 2, they'll breed again for sure and you'll have endless batches.

It is usually not economical to raise your own feeders as a steady diet, not unless you keep multiple breeder tanks.

ok im just curious if i had a 20 gal full of ghost shimp would they multiply fast enough to creat a steady supply of food?

u can have like... 3 10 gals to breed convicts if u are really up for it. one for the pair, and the other two for new fry, and fry that are a couple weeks old. that's if ur up for it

I've got 2 10 gals that I can spare at the moment. How long would I have to grow out fry until they were large enough to make it worthwhile? (Feeding to bichirs)
