Snails...

I need some snails for my tank... my local stores don't have any that are the right (large) size. Can anyone make a recommendation. Thanks.

maybe ask your lfs if they can order in some apple or mystery snails?

Snail laws are really strict in my area. See what your LFS can get. Apples, mystery, or columbian ramshorns are all good options.

Pomacea diffusa should be readily available even online. Try aquariacentral.com, our sister site if you are willing to have them shipped although some may simply be near your area and you could just pick them up.

I was looking for sizable apple snails... big enough for my O to ignore.

Not big enough... I had gotten a couple and my O promply inhaled one, thanked me and swam off.

If you are close to NYC there are a couple of friend LFS that will help you get your exact size request and etc. Or like mention by someone earlier try to ask your LFS to order... even the Petco around where I live do orders for me.

Has anyone had experience with Japanese trapdoor snails... seller on ebay (I know... I know) has some. I have gotten driftwood from him before.
