Ok, I am fairly new to the hobby but I am pretty sure from the reading I have done that I have some issues. About a week after introducing a new plant to the tank I am noticing snails. I assume the eggs hitchhiked in on the plant. I have read these can take over a tank. Any suggestions????:WHOA:

Iv never had any luck getting rid of snails besides having a figure eight puffer but they need brackish water, they love love love to eat snails though ^-^

I have snails in my 10g betta tank, never had problems unless I overfeed. Even when I do, only problem I really get is a fat betta.

always a good idea to QT your plants and check for snails before adding to the main tank . . . they are notorious hitchhikers . . .

An amblydoras nauticus will take up very little space and clear out your snails in a night or two. But you'll probably always have a few small ones hiding and breeding. They're actually pretty good at turning what would have been rotten food into poo, so snails aren't all that bad. Of course, if you feed lightly enough, you won't need them anyway.

good luck

Or disinfect with potassium permanganate.
