Start to finish snake cage build. Dont have exact specs of build or equipment because it is going on 3 hrs away from me at my house and I am in college but thought some might find it cool!

EDIt pics are out of order as you can probably tell but whatever

Haha my brother does. Room is too small so we just put extra support on the stand so it can be used as the bed too

Nice and big but I see some problems. Is your wood treated with anything? If not PAINT IT! Raw wood will mold and warp very fast with the humidity required for that snake. Your cage is over kill(I see a joist hanger) and does not need to be studded. I think you will have problems cleaning the cage with all those studs in the way. I also see exposed wires, I am not a fan of this, try to run them so the snake cannot come into contact with them.

ya the woods all treated.

Yup exposed wires. On a budget and I dont think it will be a problem

Someone sleeps on top of it so it needed to be strong.

When you have a 30 lbs boa holding onto those wires he/she might just pull them out from where ever they lead, so yes, that will be a problem.

I would have just made it out of 3/4" plywood, it would have been plenty strong for a bed + person.

The exposed wires are only for brief sections in the tank. And there is no possible way it could hang on them. They are tight to the wall.

Extra support never hurt anybody :)

I disagree. If a snake wants to get on them, it'll find a way. You could at least tape the wires down with electrical tape then duct tape. Its cheap and easy. Why risk it?
