It can make life a whole lot easier when that snake gets to monster size. Feed in another location to condition it so it's not in "feeding" mode every time you enter that enclosure.

I think the whole "don't feed them inside their cage" thing is bull****. I've been keeping snakes for around 15 years and currently, I only keep reticulated pythons, and I have always fed them inside their cages with no problems. There is a technique called hook training and whenever you do anything inside of their cage, you just stroke them on the side or if they come towards you, give them a light tap on the head, and this tells them that whenever they are touched by the hook, it is not feeding time. Only on days that you feed them, you don't touch them. It also doesn't make sense to feed large snakes outside of their cage. Your boa will get a decent size and when it reaches its max size, where are you gonna feed him? I don't know where I would feed my 14ft male and it doesn't make sense to me to have a large empty cage in the already crowded room just to use for 30 min a week. And also snakes are more likely to bite you right after they eat cuz they're still in feeding mode for sometimes days so you are more likely to get bit when moving it back into its cage.
