snake feeding video...

Alec (the one in the vid) isn't my brother, he's my brother's friend.

i was filming, my brother and his friend were in the background, we are feeding fuzzies for the ball python's safety, plus he has a habit of swallowing his food backwards, which doesn't cause problems with fuzzies..
in any case, i think 2 fuzzies is an apprpriately sized meal for him, an adult mouse would be half as long as him and a fair bit wider...

in my experience if the food is proper size they wont swallow it backwards. they do alot when the food id too small.
but honestly he can take a large hopper it LEAST. like i said all my new born balls get fed reg mice.
i dont mean to argue, im just tryin to help and let you know that it is ok to go bigger. and if you can get him on rat pinks and fuzzies he will grow alot better. and be even healthier than he would be on mice.

yeah, but our store doesn't carry live rats... we're working on getting them all to f/t, then we can get frozen rats.

thats a good plan. frozen is always better. and it looks like your ball wont have any trouble taking frozen

My ball ate live for 11 years. My dad didn't want to feed him frozen but never gave a good reason just said "because I said so." So one day I just got a frozen rat and feed it to my snake and he took it with no problems. Then my dad asked me if I feed him and I said I just feed him a frozen rat and my dad was fine with it. I guess he finally realized I know more about it then he does so he was not mad.

So I think you should have no problems switching your guy to frozen.
