Snake ID

awesome guys! i didnt plan on catching it untill yall said about it. now im contimplating it. thanks. lol. So if i were to, would it be a good species to keep? Or stupid, and just better to buy some other kind of snake? Im not really in the market for a snake, just wondering. Iv seen a few around at different streams and always wonderd. Just saw an all black one with light bands like yall said, earlier today at a different location.
 
If you wanted a colubrid snake probably a king, corn, rat or pine/gopher/bull snake would all be better choices. Unless you really want to try keeping a water I'd skip it.

There are no cottonmouths in Ohio. You only have nonvenomous water snakes.
