Snake not coming out (Week)

I have a desert king snake and its been hiding under its substrate for about a week. Should i try and pick it up/ is it shedding? because I've had it for a while and its never shed with me once?

if it's never shed and the eyes are clouded over, it might be digging for humidity to loosen the skin so it can shed, check the eyes.

it could also be digging because the temperature is too cool. How cool is the tank?

it could also be digging because you have a heat mat on the bottom of the tank. Do you have a heat mat under the tank?


What type of substrate is he on?

What/how many heat sources do you have?

Does he have a hide box that he can find total 100% darkness?
 
! heat lamp, no he can't get 100% darkness, I'm not sure the name of substrate but its like soft straw of something similar
 
how long have you had the snake?

how old is the snake?

do you have any pictures of the snake and the terrarium?

you can try
humid hide with moss
soaking him in warm water.
give him a rock or a log the rub the skin off
give him a water dish that is big enough for him to completely get in it
