Snake -vs- Fish

On the first picture the snake looks like a Northern water snake and the fish is a bit difficult, without a doubt a sunfish but beyond that I cannot tell. I know for sure that it is not a bluegill, crappie or rock bass. Looks like a pumpkinseed or longear to me.
