Hello everyone.

I am so amazed by this fish and i whant to get some for my tank 100gallon(375liters). What kind of snakehead can you recommend for my tank. I like lagre fishes and agressive ones. And i am only thinking of getting one kind

Best regards: Quilles

Hi,its a hard to decide but its up to you,one of the many species of the dwarf snakeheads 3 to 5 specimens or 1 to 3 of the medium sized channas!

I have been looking at the following channas:
Channa aurantimaculata
Channa asiatica
Channa stewartii

And i shall visit my local pet store tomorrow to se what kind he can get to me. And if he can´t get a snakehead for me its leaning on a black rhom or a elungatus och maybe a wolffish

big tank for just one fish. might want to look into cohabable channas either by themselves or with tank mates. might help narrow down the right candidate.

I would honestly say aurantimaculata, i have had success in keeping them together with no problems at all, tho i wouldnt try more than 2 or 3.
asiatica can become quite agressive towards conspecifics when they mature (though they are a stunning species!). If you do go with auranti's remember that they are a sub-tropical species aswell.
Cheers,
Squirl

Yup for colorfull Channa, Go with Aurantimaculata.
I have a pair, and they are gorgeous as well as having great character.

If you can get a bigger tank though, my faves are my Marulius.
