Last time was good. No actual fish landed but we did catch multiple snakeheads. they broke our line :( 30lb braided test and they snapped it

NO fish are allowed kept. all will be killed

We can probably net the smaller gars. They're not native to that area if I recall correctly, so it should be legal on ones that are the size of bait fish.

What were you using as far as tackle goes? Line weight, hook size, etc.?

Blown out of proportion. Great fish that are now established here in the U.S.. All the studies done say otherwise, when it comes to really threatening the ecosystem. Wildlife fish and game, have said we should enjoy catching them as we would with any other game fish. When it is all said and done, be HUMANE!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember , they are GODS creatures. Out of all the fish I have had the pleasure to keep throughout the years, Snakeheads rank at the top. If I still lived back east, I would be the first one to go fishing. Happy Fishing.

When I have to put down a fish, I do it as humanely as possible. In this case, it will probably be the old "chop off the head in one fell swoop" approach since that seems to be the quickest and least painful way to put down a fish without an anesthetic.

And I don't doubt that they're great fish to keep as pets; I've always wanted one, but there's that whole legality issue...

^yep. dont have a choise.

and wiggles, gar arnt really considered game fish. So if we run across any little guys we can grab them. i do believe they are native though.

We where using 30lb braided test, with popper and buzz baits. they would hit them but getting a real good hook was alittle difficult. but those where mostly protective bites as they had fry already. We found a large pair guarding fry. it was pretty sweet. interesting to watch. Infact the only fish that we landed was a fry that got hook through the stomach when tryin to get the parents to bite
