They're everywhere down here in S FL!!! I catch 4-5 week. They're vicious! As fun as they are to catch and eat, they are completely taking over.

Yea, invasive to the US. They are established and are not going anywhere now. The US even completely poisoned a few lakes in an attempt to eliminate them in the wild. Naturallly, Singapore is a native habitat. If you are unsure about if it was a snakehead or a bichir, then I would not worry about if its a snakehead. Since it is native, I would also not worry about environmental impacts. They get a bad reputation in America but there is nothing to keep them in check here. They are an elite predator that has found a comfortable home in the states

They're not even the worst invasive predator here in the states. All the hype about them is kinda funny.

But they can walk on land, eat your dogs or small children! How are they not the worst invasive!? Haha, they had a LOT of hype. I used to have a few years back, lost them when they jumped out during a family vacation. Guess they couldn't live that long out of water:ROFL:

A couple years ago florida fish and wildlife did a study to see the impact of the snakehead in south florida. They found that the peacock bass that were introduced to the area years ago are keeping the snakehead population from getting out of control. Never underestimate the appetite of a hungry peacock bass!

4-5 snakeheads a week? That's not lot of snakeheads, unless you are *****ty fisherman.

^ The whole point is that they are plentiful but so are natives. The snakheads was unable put a dent on the native fishes' populations since they have been in Florida for over 20 years. Seems they are not a threat to the ecosystem and they are not even worst invasive. In fact they are not invasive but simply a non-native fish.
