Hey all you MD/VA'ers. The snakehead have invaded our water and I hear they are hella fun to fish. Anyone have any experience fishing these monsters?

I know there is a website for them but I want to hear the ametuers experiences. I currently live on the Potomac (Its great they arent here...but would be nice and easy to catch the snakehead) so was just trying to see the interest and knowledge on the un welcome species.

For those who havent heard....these guys supposedly are fished just like bass which means should be lots of fun, and they can be huge.

I have also heard DNR is giving $5 a pop for snakeheads. Not sure if this is still effective but it sounds like a good deal to get paid to fish.

Around me there are plenty! I have a buddy (eatsomekiwis) that pretty much specializes in it!

DNR is no longer giving money for snakeheads. if they did, they'd be in crazy debt!

This coming Sunday on River monsters on Animal planet its about fishing for "giant" snake heads. New episode not the old re-run.

There are many better tasting fish than the snakeheads.
But they are alright, just not fantastic.

Plus... just one giant is providing lots of meat.

Here's mine. That is a Yozuri Surface Cruiser.

Wow awesome fish. Any advice with lure and line? Or good spots in Potomac.
