I was wondering exactly how much do snake heads cost? yes i know they are not legal in the U.S. but how much do you guys pay for snake heads where you live like the price of a 6 inch and whats the price of a large adult. just wondering.

Thats a very difficult question to reply to.
depends on the exsact species, for example ive been selling juvi channa ornatipinnis at a knock down price of ten pounds..however sold the adult breeding pair for 160 pounds as theres only a couple of breeding pairs in the world at present...

sold a mid sized parachanna obscura for 90pounds so you get the idea, demand and how much you want something, how easy or difficult they are to get hold off etc..

Hi,

you can get juvi orintalis for five Euros, I sell my juvi asiatica for 15 Euros, and a single adult pulchra for 35 Euros

Channa are more expensive in shops, and it depends on the species not so much on the size.

Cheers

giant snakehead juveniles are so cheap in my area that i'm making them feeders for my arowanas and alligato gar. you can buy 4 for $1.

you're right peewee accdg. to my research here in some part of asia you snakeheads are cheap.. and i owned too.. =)

i payed around 20 $ US / 120 kr each for my juvi pleurothalma, but never seen them since within my contry.

ya all depends what you want, and what's available, and iff its a hobbiest or shop...

The spot I buy my snakeheads has the following in stock to give you an idea…

channa melasoma 3”- 40$
channa bleheri – 3-4” 40$
channa pulchra- 3” 25$
breeding group of 3 adult channa pulchra – 300$

I picked up a group of 4 Channa Asitica as 4” juvies for 120 if I remember correctly, and a nice pair f 10” channa aurantimaculata for 300$, (prices are all in canadian dollars, which is about the same as the US right now...)

Now I also live on the east coast of Canada, most exotic fish are hard to find here, and therefore quite expensive since both supply and demand are very low, and snakeheads are pretty hard to find in anywhere in Canada.
