Snakehead Sedation IN Tank for Transfer

Nets, pillowcases, polystyrene boxes??????? All sounds like alot of extra messing about to me.

I've transported 2 & half foot Channa argus in the past and simply put 3 or 4 big black bin liners inside each other and then put the fish in this. If your fish will be sedated I'd slip him straight into one by submerging a bag and just sliding him in. If he's sedated you shouldn't need to net him. Then whip him out the tank and put the wet bag containing the fish into another bag and another etc until you feel confident the bags will hold the weight of the fish. You need hardly any water, just enough to cover his back and the bags should be left open as you know they breathe air. Pillow cases and nets are bad imo because they rub lot's of slime from the fish. When you transport him get someone to hold the bag to avoid spillage and the jobs a good un. Best of luck!

Just as a comparison, My Channa Marulioides are expected to hit 2ft in captivity, so a Channa Micropeltes WILL get a hell of a lot bigger than Marulioides.
My Micropeltes is growing out in a tank your size, to go into a 12ft college pond.
6x3x3 is not going to last long...

Here's a method that works pretty well (I use it when I have to move my pacu's), use a large pillow case and guide him in it, and all you have to do is grab on. How much does this fish weigh? I would try other ways before using sedation.

Hell use bed covers if you need to.
