Do any of you guys have any experience of inter-species snakehead compatability?
The specific species I have in mind are two of the mid-size snakeheads, C.aurantimaculata and C.pleuropthalma. (Jelly - I note you list 2 Golden Cobras and 3 Pleuros - are they in the same tank?) I have 2 aurantimaculatas at present about 11", and was thinking of introducing a small group (3 or 4) pleuros, but they are only around the 6-7" size and I am not sure how they shall fare because a) Aurantimaculata are fairly belligerent and b) the size disparity. I have experience with Pleuropthalma before, I had a group (on their own) from 5" to 11". Appreciate any details of your experiences. Thanks

I've had inter species snakehead tanks. Currently i have gachuas and sp. assam. I first introduce the sp. assam then the gachua. I noticed they were fighitng a lot. so i rearranged the tank and they stopped fighting. just make sure they have lots of hiding spaces.

Stumbled across these pics over the internet, so I do beleive it may very well be possible?!! :headbang2

Tank space, I'd say is the largest key factor in order for it to be sucessful. GL!

I had a Channa aurantimaculata you can’t keep it with a pleuropthalma as they are a temperate species so you are suppose to keep them cooler in the winter. So cant be kept with other Channa.winter of 19 and a summer of 25 degrees they need to shut down. This was passed on to me by Snakeheads.org when i got my one so there you go from the top men if you have any more questions like that e mail them they are very good and will get back to you.
