Snakeheads and arrowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for all the replies and iv just measured my tank agen and its 5 x2x2 but the plan is to either go bigger tank or just start all over again with babies ,
my snake head has never seemed to bother any of the other fish mayb at the start wen theyv first entered the tank but none have been killed so im just guna have to keep watch on him with the arrowana and get rid if i have to but i have seen on youtube some real monster snakehead and arrowana in the same tank looking pretty awsome together.

If you don't know about snakehead, how do you know it's bad choice and too aggressive for arowana? Because I had 1 years ago in a basement pond. Channa-micropeltes Very agressive and broke through a 40 gallon breeder I had. Does that help you understand better jlnguyen 74? Also why don't you try an answer the op question instead of worrying about the answers of other posters trying to help him out? Thats the promblem with this site too many fault finders.

Do you have any idea how big is a 600gal tank?
Not large enought for all those monsters

How do you know snakehead will most likely kill one of them at some point? Have you had snakehead?
THere are many good articles on them do some reading of your own

It sounds like a great stock, I just set up a 5L 2H 3W tank and I wouldnt consider putting Pacu'ss or an arro in there, let alone together.
I know how expensive fish tanks are in England I've lived there before, the big tanks can cost you more than 1000 dollars and when I say big I mean 5 feet. Houses in England are much smaller than north America on average and many houses don't have basements so there isnt quite the market for huge tanks. I'm not Bull****ting either this is first hand Experience. I spent over 8 years in England and as soon as I emmigrated to Canada I can get all these huge tanks for good prices.

problem is, they still sell Monster fish in England even though not many people can house them. You do have a good sized tank! better than I ever had in England but you are best to stick to fish around the 1'-1.5' mark like cichlids, unless of course you upgrade, or you just sell the fish when they get too large.

Alex's IFS has them in with the 4 foot arowana in one of their three 900 gallon tanks.

^ Way too jump in for your duttbuddy... Have you called yet? Oh yeah you haven't so you lose. Hop off its a little concerning to me that a grown man cares so much about a little boys fish store.. I'm calling Lvl. 3 :banher:

*sigh*.... No John I have not had a snakehead although it is well documented that they have a habit of killing just about any tank mates even after being with them for a while.

Why are you simply trying to oppose the position that EVERYONE has tried to take?
do you know that a 6'' oscar can eat a 7'' rainbow SH? he got the 6'' oscar 6 months ago so it should be bigger by now, the rainbow SH(if it is a rainbow like the OP said) only get up to 8'' so the SH could be kill by the oscar here not the opposite of that!

I guess... I just know that snakehead combo's usually don't work thats all I was trying to say. John just likes to get aggressive towards everyone else's posts for some reason. Kevin agrees w/me to and so do many others.
