Do snakeheads if given the opportunity eat snails?

The reason I ask is I have a small breeding program to feed the puffs and had a thought to put them in with the snakeheads if they didnt eat them as then the snails would breed better and also help with any upcoming algae problems in the tank.

I wouldnt want to do it if there is going to be a rampage to eat them or alternatively by a snakehead eating them it would affect its health?

Almost all fish will eat snails especially if the snail is squashed but no side effects are noted although with wild caught snails, you may likely introduce flukes which is quite prevalent among them. Luckily, this is very rare among captive bred ones.

Hi,

I dont have snails, cause all my channa see them as food.
I have tried to introduce big snails, but the channa wait until the snail looks out the shell, and than grab it, and shake until the snail is without shell.
Smaller snails are eaten whole and crushed with the throat teeth.

Cheers
