snakeheads and tetras!

I would agree that not all snakeheads are out and out killers, there is also two types of aggresion that people associate with fish not just snakeheads, territorial and predatory. Like any predator they will usually eat anything, fish or otherwise that they can fit in their mouths and they do tend to have large mouths. On the territorial side most are no worse than many Cichlids although they usually are better equiped to do more damage.

With exodons, they will not attack a snakehead. I have found personally that they usually go for small scaled silver fish and would definatly become food for any Snakehead with a preference for fish. As tokyo has said most are subtropical so will not be a good mix with Exodons. Most of the tropical snakeheads will be a risk as pretty much all of them will grow to a size were the exodons will be potencial food.

Of course Snakeheads are illegal in the states, a great alternative will be the Exodons with an Erythrinus Wolf. Although the Exo's will need to be big enough so they are not at risk from the wolf. I have found these small Wolves very simalar in behavour and charactor to the small snakeheads I have kept.

Snakehead will prolly kill the poor exos. :(

I have kept a group of 15 Exo's with lots of different fish and the only fish that got attacked were my FW Cuda's, stripped of all there scales and left for dead. I actually kept them with three very juvenile Pleuro's. They were about 1.5", I removed the pleuro's when they got big enough and were looking like they were eyeing up the exo's. I also cohabed various Botia, Nandus and other odds and sods including for a short period of time Channa sp. assam which is very peaceful by snakehead standards with Exo's and have not expearenced any issues with anything other than silver scaled fish.
