Snakeheads found in NYC (Central Park)

Once it starts, there is no turning back.....no way at all.

wow thats amazing. Such an allusive predator.

This is why some fish should not be sold in the US. Yes I am an avid fish keeper but I would rather be able to go fishing and not just catch snakeheads if it ever gets that bad.

This isnt NYC...

This is Burnaby Central Park in British Columbia, Canada.

And this is post is actually old, the fish was caught a few months ago. The fish appeared sick, lathargic, and starving, probably due to the cooler Canadian climate which caused it to have no appetite. All the videos of the fish showed it basking in the open, usually in the sunlight (probably trying to get warm).

The fish probably would have died of natural causes, the media just played this up a lot

It wasn't Burnaby Central Park. It was in NYC but they hasn't confirmed that Harlem Meer in NYC has snakeheads as they has yet catch a confirmed snakehead. But then again any lakes that is near or in the urban areas tends to have full of non-native fishes. Interestingly they did caught a snakehead back in 2008 from same lake but that doesn't sounds like they pose a threat to the "native" fish populations and the snakeheads remains uncommon in Harlem Meer.

Hmmm. They don't want it? I do! :D
