Snakeheads illegal in America?

Alright, I think this is probably the best picture I'm going to get. It kept leaving every time I showed up to snap a shot so yeah.

I'm guessing it might not be an actual Snakehead afterall, seeing as they come from places like Africa and Asia and not SA. Oh well, I was starting to enjoy the fact that I might've found one but even then my tank isn't big enough for it anyway. So can anyone ID for me?

Oh wow, I think you're right, I used to see those all the time at this other LFS I shop at. Though this guy seems to like the bottom of the tank. Don't pikes normally swim about?

Oh well, anyway thanks for the help guys.

nope not a SH its a pike sp. bellycrawler it will stay on the bottom alot untill feeding time

good thing for you if you got cought with a SH you could be faceing some jail time or a hefty fine

if it was a SH don't kill it but what ever you do DON'T let it go in the wild especially if it was the one in the pic you posted that was a redline snake head there one of the only SH that can survive in the wild

whoops your in florida theres alot of SH that could survive there

Yeah, I'm actually glad. I was worried about that but I really felt bad for it. This shop wasn't very good at keeping its fish.
