Snakeheads in Japan?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
HI,

I live in Japan too, near Tokyo to be more precise.
When time permits, i like to go fishing too, but I have never caught a snakehead around these parts.

I do know of one place in Tokyo that has them..there is a big pond in Ueno park with a sign explaining what kind of fish inhabits the pond..and the C.argus is on there....unfortunately no fishing allowed!:D

As for the shops over here..I agree, we have access to many interesting fish;).

Tropheus, I called aqua Bonito, but at this moment they don't have C.diplograma in stock, they may get some later on and if they do, I am first in line!:D

Yes, we do get a lot of rare fish here.
We have a shop that sells only monsters near me, that has many fine fish. (If only I had the money and space!)

I thing it has to do with the responsability and awarenes of japanese people. I am pretty sure you don't have many japanese guys buying pirahna sholas just to release them in the nearest lake if the get bored without mattering the consecuences it would bring to that echosystem.

Cheers.

what kind of fish can be found in the rivers and the ponds in Japan?

en yeah, except the koi carps lol xD
I'm talking about the natural ponds and not the private made ponds.

haha poor you :)
Some idiots released american sunfish here, and we had the same boring problem.
Every year there was a tv show when they tried to scare the sh*it out of people by telling them thw wrong info about the fish.

Btw man, post some pictures of your set ups? I'm aching to see your tanks.. I seem to remember you claiming to house Micropeltes comfortably (don't quote me on that) and we all know what kind of tank that would take.. =) c'mon give us enthusiasts something to drool over..

and seiichi! DAMN! me like!! stunning as always!
