Snakeheads in Virginia

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes there where lots there , but that does not mean that they have had a negative effect. a lot of fish will eat the juvie snakeheads so there populations may also increase. from all i have read on the subject ,there has been no evidance of a negative effect on native fish , personally i would be more worried about all the carp but they are not as sensational as a fish that can move accross land. either way they are most defanatly there to stay , and i do think in time to come they will be looked at in a diferant light. esp. when more and more people get into fishing for them.

only time will trully tell if or what impact they have had on the eco-systems they have settled in. in other parts of the world where this fish has set up home as an introduced species ,there has been no massive losses of native fish !

cheers col
