wut uyre doing will not work...sadly enought...6 relines...650 gallons...ummm equal big nono...suggeted size for adualt snakeheads is 8 feet by 24 inches height doesnt matter...well over 1 foot...i have mine in a 48-18 inch tank...umm...hes 10 inches...and he just ate his friend the 7 inch snakehead...they do not accept tank mates...and ure plan wont work...they will eventually kill each other...because 2 will pair up...if u got males and females..and kill the rest of them..so ull probably have 2 left in a few months...when is this pond supposed to be built...they get close to 2 feet after a year...and ure tanks are too small to house one 2 foot fish let alone six...well anyways good luck with wut ure doing...

the pond will be about 7' long of actual water, its really easy to build too by the looks of it. Im sure in a few weeks everything will be set in motion. would be even sooner but theres lots going on right now. Oh yea I had the idea of putting a sort of cage lid on it, anyone think that could work?

wouldnt suggest a cage lid...they will bust threw it unless u have some heavy weights over the lid...when i was planning my pond i was thinking of building one of those slidding glass tops, but made out of acrilic and putting weights on the side where i dont open...get it?

i meant like an attached steel cage, something impossible for them to break through. The main thing i was concerned about that idea was maybe it would make too much humidity in the air even with a dehumidifier. Another concern was I have 2 large dogs that shed like mad and wouldnt want it getting into the pond and messing **** up.

thats why im suggesting a glass top like and slidding glass covers oin aquarium...the humidity will condesate...in most part on the lid...and the hair wont go in ure aquarium...and plus it will be clear and u will be able to view better then with a cage...should be to difficult to big too..need two sheets of acrilic and slots to insert so they slid...and voila...aquarium style pond

I would have to agree with the wide tank once they get bigger. You should be able to house them in the long one while they are still small. should give them a little more swimming space but once they start to hit the 10" mark move them to a wide tank. As stated before put a good solid HEAVY lid on as these guys love to jump, and as you know will live for a week out of water.
I would suggest getting that pond built asap just for thier sake. This way they might not eat each other as fast
