I hear you. The pond is actually off the golf course not right in the middle. I fish there sometimes. It's far off the road also. I think it's a safe place for it.

About 2 weeks ago I saw one crossing the road while I was on the way to work(here in up state NY)....don't know for sure if it made it across but...at least did not see a dead one on the way home.....
