As soon as the river warms up I plan on sending them on their merry way. When they hatched it was in late October, they would not have made it through the winter. The lone snapper has been in the tank with the globe for a few weeks now and has no problem with finding his way in or out of it. I have also had baby painted turtles in the tank and they too found their way in and out of it. My daughter had a baby python and it to found its way in and out with no problem. I would not endanger the little buggers if I thought it would hurt them in any way.
on another note, my cammera I'm using is a cheapy. My daughter has the good one at school and hasn't retrieved it yet.

Hummm....dude how can I put this midly...NO! Snappers are VERY fast growers as are painteds, on moment they fit in, another they dont, and your endangering them oh yes you are, its like letting a child play near a bussy road without supervision, once you get burned you wont do it again but a turtle would already lose its life:screwy: Also your putting questionable aestetics above your animals well being and safety wich should be your absolute prime consern. If you wana do it, NONE of thouse animals belong in your goldfish tank, also your risking your goldfish life too by creating a "dead zone" with litle oxigen and by keeping it with a snapper.
And frankly a python in a fish tank?!:irked::screwy:

im a little lost with the python and dont know alot about snappers tbh (i do know a good recipe but wont go in to that now) but i think he said they hatched when it was cold so they wouldnt have survived. would that still count as captive bred? hes just got them big enough to cope on there own.
as long as he releases where he picked them up would it still be a problem?
dont flame me, im just asking.

Python was in a larger glass tank that was suited for him with branches for it to climb in. I put the globe in the glass tank with no water in it and he would climb into the top of it and then back out. I am not in the hobby of keeping anything other than just rescue. I supply a home for them until I find a new home for them. And the homes they go to are checked out before they leave here. The turtles were late hatches and would have died. I feed them turtle food in the same manner as they would find food in the wild. They are about 5 months old now and about the size of a silver dollar. There is no danger in them getting stuck in the four inch tube or the six inch openning in the bottom of the tube. I do appreciate your concern for these animals but trust me they are well taken care of. I have a one acre pond that is quite secluded that I will release the turtles in and it is very much there type of enviroment. Dave
