Little guy is about 2.5" shell, big guy(florida snapper) about 8" shell, measuring at the longest area. Also have an RES 4" shell and tiny musk about 1.5" shell.

Awesome. A few weeks back I was driving to work and it looked like a tire was in the road. So I stopped to move it, since it was a narrow road. Sure enough it was a big snapper, a lot of the area i live in used to be swamps so I see them often but this guy was huge. It was a struggle to get him off the road. These guys can get impressive.

Sounds cool. I can't imagine it being easy to move an angry 100 pound snapper. When I was little, I used to be terrified of them. Can't seem to get enough now....haha

Sand for the big guy, little one in bare bottom. The tank has gone through a lot of changes. Festae, "trihorns", and now a snapper. Well just for the cold nights. I don't recommend using such fine sand as he is in now. Very difficult to clean. Anything heavier is good, ime.
Snappers are great pets, I recommend you get one! Not nearly as friendly as res though, be prepared.
