This is all you get for now :D Should be ready in a few weeks.

Stand, front shot, and back shot. Back shot shows the Beananimal drain pipes with DIY horizontal overflow, and two returns on the opposite side.

Enjoy :)

And how do those drains work with two of them pointed down?

The Beananimal uses 1 as the main drain, which is fully submerged. The 2nd one (middle pipe) is 1/4" higher and works as an open channel standpipe (much like a Durso). This one is handling just a bit of spillover, whatever the full siphon can't handle.

Gave it a test run last night and it worked like a dream! The entire setup is even quieter than the Herbie pipes on my 57g!!

I'm calling BS, how can something be quieter than silent? :grinno:
Sweet looking tank bro

Does sound pretty stupid now that I think about it

But on my 57g, I'll get an occassional burp, or fart in the lines. Seems like it will get a bit of air every now and then. The Beananimal had no farts at all the whole time it was running. Not sure what causes the difference though...

Looks killer Jose, love the dims!!! I LOVE the 3D background and the fact it covers the overflow box. You do that yourself? Any closeup pics? Plumbing loks top notch as usual bro.

What kind of flow rate are you targeting? Your dicuss like heavy flow?

Thanks Justin! The background is the AquaTerra Mesa rock, slimline model. All their fancy backgrounds were on a very long backorder, so I decided to go with this one. Also, I like the fact that I don't lose any depth in the tank. I built the glass box myself, and covered it all with the background pieces. Sorry, no other pics at the moment, but I'll get you some :)

This tank will have 2x Quiet One 4000 pumps. So that will give me 2000gph, not counting head loss though. I have one of these pumps right now in my 57g, and the wild discus in there don't mind the flow at all. Most of the current will be along the surface anyways, have them angled with two 45* elbows.
