Excellent pick up!!! I got some as well. I can't believe how red their eyes are. And they came in in excellent condition. First day out of the bag and they're eating. Heck half of them ate pieces of tilapia. I'll get pics up soon as well. This should be a great growout thread.

Hey I was wondering how do you feed the tilapia to them being so small, do you cut the fillets to size and then just throw them in? I am planning to get some also.

I just give them some feeders right now to get them to full health and a good growth rate, then train on pellets...

I have other pellet trained fish in the tank, or I starve/mix food.

very nice fish master i dont think thier eyes look faded they look blood red cool. isee you got a baby silver !! And some sort of pictus cat?or psuedodoris?Im sure that i did not spell that right but oh well.

Yes just cut the fillets into smaller pieces. Every cichla we ever delt with catches on real quick too fish fillet.

Yeah I just cut up the filet and cut some really small pieces off. I even tear these up a little more for the smaller fish. There more likely to swallow, IME, if they can do it without a lot of effort from the pieces being too big. At first at least. After they've grown a bit and are use to it they act just like they do with feeders and stuff as much in there as possible.
