Snooks seem like they would make great tankmates for Rays.. passive, predator, large, intelligent.. very similar to a Datnoid..

Anyone try this combo?

In the 180g I think I want to do 2x Snooks and 3x Reticulata..

In the 375g I think I want to do 3x Severums and 2x Motoros..

i dont have any experience with snooks and rays together but i think it shouldn't be any problem...

I don't see a problem with the combo....

what are snooks pics

Only thing I see is the snooks are pigs and will eat until they are about to pop

Ah yes.. forgot about competition for food.. The severums are much more laid back in their feeding behavior..

Do Datnoids do the same thing? I know Pbass will eat very aggresively, but see some people succesful with that combo..

Looks like i am just going to have to take special precaution to make sure some of the food gets to the bottom..

I just don't have any snook pics :( However, I really have my eye on this pair at my work that has grown to almost 6" now..

Providing adequate hiding spaces/caves etc Im sure this would be a great mix.

Snooks IMO dont usally bite things for the hell of it.

The only problem with severums is although they may be tame, from time to time they bite the rays if they were to breed.

I may also be trying this combo, yhough I'm still undecided on getting a ray. The snooks are pigs they will stuff thier oversized mouth then have to go hide for a while to consume all the food in thier mouth.

Here are some pics of my 5" snooks and a couple others in this thread
