From what I understand, when looking at specific color variants, it can be difficult to predict what you are getting (unless dealing with subadult specimens). IMO baby snooks generally look like ****E. They resemble a cross between a young pink tilapia and a red devil going through a severe color change. See for yourself:

BTW, all of these I believe are juveniles of a red viriety

Look at the very first reply in this thread.

Again, males potentially max out at 20", females stay smaller. These are social fish and do well in groups. They are also open range predators capable of extreme bursts of speed. Because of their ability of going from zero to 80mph in a fraction of a second, I would not recommend anything shorter than a 6 foot tank. Although you probably could keep a female in 55 and male/breeding pair in 75-90.

My red looks nice but would like a reg 1. 1 shop has a 12" pr in a 75 or 90 and they stay to 1 side. I'd say 150g for a pr because of their size and feeding.

My spawning pair is still young yet around 7". They have very intresting personalities and act agressivly like most cichlids when spawning but due to their mouth structure can do no real damage to other fish.

Greens used to be relitivly common in the fish trade but are very difficult to find any more. All my fish are fed market shrimp, raw tuna meat and the occasional silversides. The snooks adapted to it easilly.

1 1/2 years. Eats like a pig but it eats pellets so it's not too expensive.
