I have a Brackish tank and was told I could put a snow flake eel in there the SG is 1.010 is there any problem with this.

It would be G. Tile, not Echidna nebulosa just to make sure. They do well together too. How big is your tank?

Yes the salinity is ok from my understanding the absolute ideal for brackish is 1.008 though. Before buying the eel find out the salinity the shop has it in. It is better to place fish suddenly in lower salinity than higher. The Gymnothorax is a very hardy fish and the only problem you may have will be getting it to eat. They tend to go on hunger strikes.

What size is your tank? The G Tile get around 2 ft so if the tank is not something you may want to upgrade later you may have problems anytime they are moved. Just keep this in mind.

Be sure to drip it. My lfs had these in FW.

There is no 'absolute ideal' SG for brackish. It all depends on where the fish naturally inhabits.

Fish from nearer freshwater areas (such as Bumble Bee Gobies and Figure 8 puffers) will do better at lower salinities of 1.003-1.006 whereas those from closer to estuaries (such as green spotted puffers or most brackish moray eels) will do well at higher salinities of around 1.010 and upwards.
