during the worst storm when most schools were close almost a week, we were open all but one day... and got one for winning the superbowl... the next day the snow storm hit and most schools were out the rest of the week... we went... took 2hrs to drive to work...I made it...
Schools shut down in my home town at the first sight of snow. We don't get snow that much where I am now though.

the closest I've come to snow is seeign it on the mountains in Nevada whilst I was in Las vegas. I'd rather live were there is no snow, as a hot weather pattern allows you to have really cool plants such as Cycads, Boganvillias and Frangipanni's.

You mean a lake that isn't frozen? A lot of people around here will take their old snowmobiles and cross thawed out parts of lakes, mainly where there is a stream that allows constant movement so the water doesn't freeze. Personally I think its dumb because a lot of people lose their snowmobiles doing so.
