Well my ignorance is based on my experience. I drive 40 miles into the Colorado Rockies for work on a daily basis. Get to deal with these clowns way to often. Best is when they plow and there isn't even any snow. Twice I have been blocked into parking lots by contract plows, so it's not just the state boys. Heck Thursday morning took my daughter to the doctors office. We had to walk through 6" of snow and ice to get into the building as the contract plows were cleaning the back lots first![]()
Well those aren't the best example of professional plowers which doesn't represent the whole demographic! Contracted plowers easily work 20-48 hours straight, I've managed 72 hours with 2 1hour power naps, lets just say things get a tad blurry and with a giant 8' steel plow inches away from cars, buildings and people max attention is required.
As for the doctor visit the property managers dictate the order of snow removal so there was probably a reason they did the back lots first, likely garbage day or maybe where the docs and nurses park? And getting plowed in is common as the plow moves snow and that snow has to go somewhere, same in my neighborhood, shoveling the end of my driveway is ridiculous because all the snow is moved to the left and right to clear the street or lot (trick is to get there before the business opens, like in the picture I posted!)
Just saying were not all brain dead and at 60-80$ per hour you can bet your ass I'm thorough and make sure it gets done right! City and state plows like to plow nothing to create potholes and make the world go round, can't argue with you there...
Question: would you rather there be no plows? Just curious..!
