snowflake eel in a 20gal long ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yea there able to go full salt

uh yea and die in full salt , they have them at my lfs 1-2 inchs and they are black and dieng , 20 gallon would be fine to hold the eel , but why wouldnt you just wait and get a good 55 gallon and get a real moray when you move, and if you dont like spending money on fish , then you probly dont like spending time on taking care of them... take a hike.

conclusion: 20gallon stupid idea , your moving soon and all the LR and sand you use in the 20 wont fit the bigger tank, the eel will outgrow the 20 in like 8 months if you buy a 5 inch one , and you probly dont care that much to take care of it. fitting more than 2 saltwater (predator fish) in less than a 50 gallon is just dumb. so please just wait until you have a bigger tank or you are a little more mature.

sorry about the rudeness but i read all these posts all day of people getting evicted from their houses and needing to sell their stuff so they can keep their fish and getting divorced for their fish , maybe thats extreme but thats what this website is , monster fish keeping , and you dont like spending $ on fish...... maybe this website isnt for you..

I don't get that vibe from the OP at all... Calling people dumb as opposed to trying to help in a more human manor, maybe you are the one who needs the maturity check.
Monsterfishkeepers.com is not about choosing your fish over your wife or getting evicted to care for your fish. It is about a special group of people from around the world who share a common hobby. Not everybody has to spend a lot of money on fish to enjoy them. We should be trying to help each other, this isn't a p*ssing contest, it's something we do for fun. I don't know, I really didn't like how you expressed your thoughts though. Sometimes I see things on here that make me want to say some harsh things, but I don't. Restraint is a good thing to posses my friend. I'm assuming you might take this the wrong way, I hope not.

As far as the Snowflake, that's a negative my friend. Long term I would not suggest that. As stated already I would use a 55g as the smallest tank for a SF. If you intend on mixing more fish into this setup you may want to go even larger. Maybe closer to 90g.

But as you can tell this person, read the hole post, just does not get it, he has a failing 12 gallon , and now a poor researched idea of a 20g after he cant even take care of a 12 gallon. that was wrong to go off like that but i just got done reading a 4,000 gallon tank build that went bad that really pissed me off . And his reply to his 12 for not working and for having a 20 gallon is that he has the money he just doesnt like to spend it on fish. im sorry but my little brother is 8 years old and he manages a 75 gallon tank with a lion fish , stone fish , and a baby clown trigger. type google.com, then type size require for snowflake eel. i mean come on i would understand behavor or something of the sort for a question but this. His conciense is biting him in the ass so he is asking MFK so he doesnt feel as bad. and you cant get a bigger tank because you dont like spending money on fish.

I totally understand where you're coming from, but the question was already answered. There was no reason for you to go back and beat the dead horse even more.

In addition, you can see that when I advised that the second fish he asked about grew huge and needed brackish water, and the OP stated his opinion that they could go full salt, I then left the issue alone. If that's what he wants to think, and he's not going to listen to information put to him in a neutral way, what makes you think he's going to listen to you when you're bullying him?

Nm guys I found a solution of fish that will be ok in the tank for life
