Are you sure what you had was a snowflake?? They only get about 3'.

Oh I'm sure it's a snowflake. I've had him for a few years now. He's at 3' now but they can take good sized prey. I feed him scallops, shrimp, haddock, and other fish flesh and he can take down a whole sea scallop in one gulp. That's about 1.5" across, so a small wrasse would be no problem at all.

yeah, it's really VERY likely to eat your smaller fish.

i wouldnt do it bro.
a few months ago i did a big no-no when it comes to eels.
I was keeping m G.Tile in pure fresh and he took one of my larger convicts out.

just to keep myself from the flames. the eel is now in a brackish setup.

VERY hey. I think the best answer is go look at reefcentral.com at how many people keep snowflakes in there reef tanks and it will prove me right that yes the odd snowflake will eat the odd fish but most snowflakes are pretty good at not eating all your fish.
Its a risk but so is having 2 tangs together, having wrong anemonie/clownfish pairings, having elagances with clowns and many other things that work perfectly well for alot of people. Its just up to you to decide if the reward is worth the risk.

I guess snowflake morays are pretty docile and generally stick to a diet of crustaceans. They arent piscivorous and rarely attack other fishes, unless they are really really small!
Namor-Prince of the seas!!!

There seems to be much veriation with snowflakes. Some stay small and are perfect reef subject ,yet there are always the odd ones which eat fish.I have seen one at a lfs that was around 4ft and very thick.I feel that they are very veriable from one localaty to the next.

:iagree: I intended on puting mine in a reef setup, but all hell broke loose when I put him in there. So now my tank has turned into yet another ]V[onster tank with an undulated triggerfish, v-tail grouper, and harlequin tusk(soon).
