I just upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista and holy cowfish. The new OS is simply unbelievable compared to what I thought Microsoft was going to put out. My CPU usage dropped from 35% (Vista) to 9% (7 Ultimate) when idle. Program compatibility has not caused any major problems.
